“On the name of Egypt, history can say whatever it wants.” The great poet Salah Jaheen expresses what Egypt has of a great history, which varied in its features between Pharaonic, Roman, Coptic, Islamic, and Modern.
Egypt’s history is the most extended continuous history of a country globally for more than 7000 years BC.
Egypt is distinguished by the Nile River’s presence that cuts its land, which was considered a catalyst for establishing an ancient civilization.
Egypt is in a prominent geographical location linking Asia and Africa’s continents and connected to the European continent through the Mediterranean Sea. All this led to the emergence of a civilization known to be the oldest civilization in human history.
Some historians attempt the history of the Pharaohs, the Ptolemies, and the Islamic conquest, up to Egypt’s modern state, its foundation’s Ottoman ruler, Muhammad Ali, and President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
Still, It is not sufficient for one book or one encyclopedia to talk about the great civilization; perhaps hundreds and many encyclopedias and volumes are needed to describe its history. There are still other secrets that we do not know yet.
