Explore El-Minya Governorate in Upper Egypt, 245 km south of Cairo on the Nile River’s western bank! This region of the Middle East is rich in archeological discoveries. Most notably, Beni Hassan’s Tombs portray vivid scenes of everyday life in ancient Egypt. Tuna El-Gabal, where Akhenaton and his queen, Nefertiti, depicted worshipping the sun disc; the Necropolis of Hermopolis, where Ibis and baboons were mummified; and Tel El-Amarna, site of the capital city of Akhenaton and the birth of monotheism.

Your tour will start with a five-hour drive to El-Minya Governorate with a small rest En route.
Upon arrival, you will go on a sightseeing tour, including the vast plain where King Akhenaton decided to change his capital from Thebes to another north place called 3ht itn (The Horizon of Aton). Akhenaton: The Rebel Pharaoh received his divine inspiration to build his city in Tel El-Amarna after he started his war against the priests of Amon, see the northern tombs such as Ahmose and Huya. After lunch at an excellent local restaurant, you will head to Tuna El-Gebel, where you can see the tomb of high priest Petosiris called Ankhefenkhons and Ibis catacombs the 4th century BC. You will also visit Isadora's tomb and chapel, which goes back to the second century AD and belongs to a young woman from Hermopolis known for her beauty when the Roman emperor Antoninus Pius (AD 138–161).
Overnight accommodation in El-Minya.
Our representative will pick you up in the morning and take you to Beni Hassan to visit various governors' tombs during the early dynasties. Here you will visit the tombs of Baqet III (the governor of the Oryx Nome), Khnumhotep (the governor under Amenemhat III in the 12th dynasty) & Khety (the governor in the 11th dynasty). After lunch at an excellent local restaurant, you will proceed to El-Minya city to explore its rich medieval splendor, graceful minarets, and beautiful bazaars.
Finally, at the end of this fantastic tour, you will be driven back to your hotel in Cairo.
